Growing up I spend a large amount of time on my local village beach, Cayton bay. It’s a lovely area of unspoilt natural beauty and it has to be my favourite beach in the world.

On the beach there are a couple of pillboxes from the Second World War and although battered by the sea for many years they are still standing. I’ve made many fires sat on top of them while the tide’s coming in.

The beach is very popular with surfers and there’s a surf school on the top of the cliffs. If I’m out walking with the dog then this place will undoubtedly be my first choice.
